DBasia.news – Despite dominating the game, releasing 25 attempted kicks, and five kicks on target, Barcelona failed to score and had to settle for playing a goalless draw against Olympique Lyonnais in the first leg of the 16th Champions League, Wednesday (20/2) early morning hrs.
Lionel Messi and his colleagues were unable to break Anthony Lopes’ goal despite recording 25 kicks, five of them on target, while having 63% of the ball possession.
Barca’s main coach, Ernesto Valverde, was worried about the scoreless draw achieved by his team regarding their chances of qualifying for the quarter-finals ahead of the second leg match to be held at Camp Nou, Thursday (14/3) WIB.
“We have high strength when undergoing matches at Camp Nou, but a 0-0 draw is a dangerous result for the match in the second leg. “We have to win at home and the supporters must give a high boost because all will be determined in the second leg,” says Ernesto Valver at a news conference quoted from Sport.
Although he was worried about the chances of his team in the second leg, Valverde remained satisfied with the performance shown by his players, saying that they showed the quality of the game that was quite good even if they could not win with the various opportunities they got.
