DBasia.news – Liverpool continued the unbeaten trend when winning the match against Wolverhampton Wanderers on the 18th-week of Premier League, Saturday (22/12).
In the 2-0 match, Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk scored the goals at 18′ and 68′. The latter was chosen as Man of the Match.
Despite the impressive and consistent full-time performance, Van Dijk revealed a surprising fact, that he played unwell and having a cold.
“It was a tough day for me as I had a bit of a cold and wasn’t 100 percent,” Van Dijk said after the match cited by Goal.
“Wolves are very good, which they have shown all season. We lost the ball too easily a couple of times in the first half and they did well.”
The victory against Wolves brought Jurgen Klopp squad successfully keep their unbeaten record in the Premier League and strengthened their leading position on the table with 48 points.
Despite the difficulty to play against Nuno Espirito Santo squad, Van Dijk is delighted and relieved because The Reds brought home three points.
“These nights are very important for us. We won here and that is a big step for us. The win was very important,” the former Southampton player concluded.
