DBasia.news – Napoli didn’t get the desired result when they visited Anfield, Liverpool home, on the 6th match of Group C Champions League, Wednesday (12/12). Partenopei got defeated 0-1 against Liverpool by the only goal from Mohamed Salah, qualifying them to the knockout round.

The match was intense since the first half. At 13′, Virgil van Dijk did a hard tackle to Dries Mertens. The referee Damir Somina gave him the yellow card. But Napoli coach Carlo Ancelotti said the opposite opinion. He thinks, the Dutch player supposed to get the red card.

“I’ve seen it on the video, I think it was a red card. There were a lot of questions about VAR. When VAR comes in to the Champions League, it’s too late,” Ancelotti said cited by Liverpool Echo.

The defeat against Liverpool makes I Partenopei stay in the third bottom position of Group C. They must go to the Europa League, unlike The Reds who would go with Paris Saing-Germain to the knockout round.
