DBasia.news – Liverpool’s central defender Virgil van Dijk claimed frustration and frustration at failing to give the first Premier League title after winning it in 1990.
The 2-0 victory over Wolverhampton at Anfield on Sunday (12/5) became meaningless after Manchester City won a landslide victory 4-1 over Brighton. The defending champion again lifted the trophy after collecting 98 points, just one point ahead of the Reds.
Liverpool’s season itself is quite colorful in 2018/19. Had a lead up to 10 points at the top of the Premier League standings in mid-season, inconsistencies made them overtaken by City.
But in the Champions League event, Liverpool again penetrated the final after amazingly getting up and getting rid of Barcelona with a 4-3 aggregate.
Responding to his team’s trip throughout the 2018/19 season, Van Dijk claimed to have mixed feelings.
“Frustration is the right word, I think we will all be a little disappointed because we are very close,” Van Dijk was quoted as saying to the Goal.
“But to get 97 points, playing football like we played all season, we have to be very, very proud. I don’t care about other opinions, but we work very hard every day to compete, as close as possible. City are just a little better than us, and that’s football. ”
“That doesn’t mean everything is over. We bring a lot of things with us, we will take this, and hopefully, we can compete next year and do better.”
