Wanting to bring in Sergio Reguilon, Manchester United persuades Real Madrid

By db-admin

DBasia.news – Manchester United are still active in bringing in players in the summer transfer market. After recruiting Donny van de Beek from Ajax Amsterdam the Red Devils are trying to complete the transfer of Sergio Reguilon from Real Madrid.

According to the news in the Guardian written by Fabrizio Romano and Ed Aarons, Reguilon has agreed to personally move to Man United after last season’s loan to Sevilla. The problem now is with Madrid.

El Real has tagged Reguilon with 30 million euros and wants a redemption option if Madrid are interested in bringing him back in the future. However, United does not want to fulfill the official price and does not want a buy-back option.

“Reguilon’s deal. Manchester United are considering making bids day by day but will not pay the 30 million price tag. Real Madrid is also asking for a ‘buyback clause’,” Romano told @FabrizioRomano.

“Personal deals are not a problem, Reguilon wants to join Man United. An opening bid will be submitted soon. Sevilla: quit the race (not chasing Reguilon).”

Reguilon (23 years old) last season helped Julian Lopetegui’s Sevilla win the Europa League. Man United wanted to add to the left-back’s competitive side for Luke Shaw and Brandon Williams by bringing in Reguilon.

Since the promotion from the academy and playing in the Madrid first team in 2018 Reguilon has had difficulty competing for the team’s left-back position. Zinedine Zidane’s Madrid already has Marcelo and Ferland Mendy in that position.
