DBasia.news –  Real Madrid did not give up to get a new defensive midfielder for next season. Denied by N’Golo Kante, El Real now, according to the AS, eyeing another midfielder, Tanguy Ndombele.

The 22-year-old midfielder is the subject of talk in Europe thanks to his great performance with Olympique Lyonnais. Ndombele becomes a rising star and has been played four times by Didier Deschamps in the French national team.

Ndombele can be referred to as Makelele’s incarnation with a more updated version (an increase from the previous Makelele version). Known as a box-to-box midfielder, Ndombele does not only carry out his duties as a back liner but also helps his team attack.

He has scored two goals and was involved in Lyon’s seven goals. Ndombele at first glance looks like relying on physical, but unique, he only collected two yellow cards this season. That is, Ndombele is not the origin of tackling or breaking the opponent if the moment is not right aka good at reading the game situation.

Real Madrid currently have Marcos Llorente and Casemiro in the role of a defensive midfielder or anchor. However, one of them is rumored to be leaving if Madrid bring Ndombele – most likely Llorente.

In 2003 Madrid released Makelele to Chelsea and El Real felt the consequences of it: the midfield became unstable and easily penetrated by the opponent. Zidane felt the impact of losing his compatriot at the time.

That’s why Zidane saw the need for Madrid to bring a multifunctional defensive midfielder like Ndombele. Having a tag of around 45 million pounds, Madrid was allegedly going to bid Ndombele starting at 50 million pounds to Lyon.

The player with a height of 1.81 meters is estimated by other European clubs such as Manchester City, PSG, Manchester United, and Barcelona. Madrid must move quickly if it does not want to overtake their rivals in Europe.

Ndombele is not a product of the Lyon academy. The Democratic Republic of Congo player with a French passport from Guingamp academy, who later joined Amiens (2014-2018), before Lyon bought it for 10 million euros.
