2018 Asian Games: Football Participants Probably Added

DBasia.news – The participants of boys’ football in 2018 Asian Games are probably raising. This is the reaction from Uni Emirate Arab National Olympic Committee (UEA NOC) when UEA wasn’t included in participants drawing.

Based on the drawing held on the 5th of July, there were only 24 countries involved. There were neither UEA nor Palestine.

In fact, both of them were included during pot division before the drawing. The UEA shocked before UEA NOC released the statement after the drawing.

Director of Technical and Sports Affairs at UEA NOC, Al Tayeb, explained this as a mistake.

“The participation of our football team is confirmed 100 percent in the 18th Asian Games hosted by Indonesia,” he said in a statement.

“I was surprised that the name of the UAE was not in the draw of teams participating in the football teams, which has happened to the Palestinian team as well. The OCA, the Organising Committee and the Technical Football Committee have made every cooperation to make-up for this big error.”

Al Tayeb explained that he fulfilled the requirement. The documents also submitted before the deadline.

“The NOC has fulfilled all conditions of participation according to the standards set by the Technical Committee and has forwarded all the required documents to the Organising Committee on time, be it for individual or team events.”

UEA NOC is now waiting for the follow-up, including re-drawing or another method to decide group division.

Meanwhile, UEA U23 National Team is now preparing to go to Dutch for 2018 Asian Games football.
