2021 Copa America Results: Argentina and Chile Win Together
By db-admin
DBasia.news – The Argentine National Team won its first victory at the 2021 Copa America. The Albiceleste successfully beat Uruguay in the second match of Group B.
Playing at the Estadio Nacional de Brasilia, Saturday (19/6), Argentina won 1-0. Guido Rodriguez’s goal became the difference between the two teams.
Argentina did appear better in this match. Lionel Messi and his friends immediately attacked Uruguay’s defense from the start.
Argentina immediately got two golden opportunities through the actions of Marcos Acuna and Messi. But Fernando Muslera is still alert to keep the goal.
Argentina’s efforts finally paid off in the 13th minute. Starting from a corner kick scheme, Guido Rodriguez was able to win an aerial duel and headed the ball sent by Messi to the far post without being able to reach Muslera.
After falling behind, Uruguay began to play more openly. This makes the game interesting because of the sale and purchase of attacks.
Uruguay had created a number of opportunities through the action of Edinson Cavani and Luis Suarez. But the score 1-0 for Argentina’s victory lasted until the game was over.
In other matches, Chile also achieved maximum results. Arturo Vidal and his friends beat Bolivia with a narrow score of 1-0.
The only goal for Chile’s victory was scored by Ben Brereton in the tenth minute. Martin Lasarte’s team could even have won a landslide if they had been more effective in taking advantage of opportunities.
The results of this second matchday made the competition in Group B even tighter. Argentina and Chile are at the top of the standings with four points followed by Paraguay who are one point apart.
While Uruguay is also still a chance to advance to the knockout phase. The condition is that Oscar Tabarez’s team must no longer lose points in the remaining three matches.
