DBasia.news –  Leonardo, as the Sports Director of AC Milan, blamed the referee when his team lost to Juventus in the Serie A continuing match. According to him, the referee’s performance was very bad.

Juventus beat AC Milan 2-1 in the 2018-2019 Serie A follow-up match, at the Allianz Stadium, Saturday (6/4). Leonardo felt Il Diavolo Rosso was cheated by the referee.

Krzysztof Piatek put Rossoneri ahead during the first half. However, Juventus reversed the situation after Paulo Dybala and Moise Kean scored.

One of the interesting events that occurred was the Alex Sandro incident which blocked Hakan Calhanoglu’s pass in the penalty box. At that time, the Brazilian player was seen holding the ball with his hand. After seeing the VAR, the referee did not point to the white spot.

“It looks like a pretty clear penalty,” Leonardo said with a smile as reported by Sky Sports after the match.

“We were very disappointed because we asked the team to give their performance and courage. To leave empty-handed because of the obvious referee’s mistakes and the general behavior of the referee who were inadequate, it was very disappointing.”

“For example, Hakan Calhanoglu’s bait cannot be explained. The referee needs to calm the situation rather than make further mistakes and tensions.”

“It was a very disappointing situation. I didn’t want to make a controversy, but it was disappointing,” he commented.

The defeat made AC Milan stay in fourth place of the standings after collecting 52 points. Rossoneri’s position can be evicted by Atalanta which is only one point adrift.
