Arsenal obtained a special win against Wolverhampton

DBasia.news – Arsenal won when they played at Molineux Stadium, the headquarters of Wolverhampton Wanderers on week 24 of the Premier League, Friday (11/02) morning WIB. The Gunners won 1-0.

It was Arsenal’s first win in 2022. It wasn’t easy for Arsenal, who lost 41% of the ball, to win at Wolves. Arsenal converted one of two shots on target into a goal by Gabriel in the 25th minute.

Arsenal are currently fifth in the standings with 39 points from 22 matches, one point adrift of West Ham United in fourth with 24 matches.

Arsenal have now won nine of their last 14 Premier League games (a draw and four defeats), keeping seven clean sheets in seven of those nine wins.

However, Wolves midfielder Ruben Neves mocked Arsenal’s victory, which was celebrated like winning the Premier League title. Especially after Gabriel Martinelli received a red card in the 69th minute.

“We saw the way they celebrated the win and that shows our level,” Neves told the BBC. “I haven’t seen Arsenal celebrate like this in the last 10 years, it feels like they won the league.”

Bruno Lage, Wolves manager was disappointed with the defeat his team suffered when his team played better than Arsenal.

“I’m disappointed because I thought we were the better team,” Lage added. “Our tempo was great and we managed the game well but we didn’t score chances and we suffered from set pieces.”

Arsenal are on the right track in the race for the Champions League zone. The next match will be held at the Emirates Stadium against Brentford on Saturday 19 February 2022, while the match against Chelsea this weekend has been postponed due to the Blues still playing in the 2021 Club World Cup.
