Shkodran Mustafi
DBasia.news – Last season was a tough season for Arsenal. In addition to failing to penetrate the Champions League zone, the Gunners are also losing heavily to Chelsea in the Europa League final.
This situation then made the club immediately devise a plan to release some players who were considered lacking in contributing to the team, one of the names that was constantly associated to be leaving was Shkodran Mustafi.
The hope of the Gunners to immediately release Mustafi seems to be wide open, according to the latest report from Mirror, the French Ligue 1 club, AS Monaco is interested in bringing Mustafi and has contacted the club regarding the plan to move the player who occupies the center-back position.
The funds that must be spent by the club which is currently playing under the direction of Leonardo Jardim are also not too high, although Mustafi is still bound by a contract until 2021, the London club is claimed to only charge 30 million euros.
It doesn’t seem surprising if Arsenal want to immediately release Mustafi, especially if they see the performance of the German player in the 2018/19 season. In addition to inconsistencies, he also rarely made blunders which caused his team to fail to secure three points.
Although the club did not close the opportunity to let go of the player, Mustafi’s departure was also considered to be realized when Arsenal succeeds in finding a successor, considering Laurent Koscielny will also soon leave the Emirates Stadium, while Rob Holding has not fully recovered from injury.
So far, Unai Emery has indeed been seen actively releasing several players, before Aaron Ramsey, Danny Welbeck and Stephan Lichsteiner, and David Ospina had already joined other clubs.
