DBasia.news –  AS Roma have not raised the white flag in the hunt for Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren. Unyielding after being rejected by the Reds, Giallorossi is now preparing a new proposal to bring Lovren.

Believed by Corriere dello Sport, Roma will try to complete Lovren’s transfer in the next few days before the summer transfer market in Europe ends.

“Giallorossi’s Sport Director, Gianluca Petrachi, will try to make a new offer for Liverpool in Lovren (transfer) within the next few hours,” reads in Corriere dello Sport.

In addition to Rome, Bayer Leverkusen is reportedly interested in also recruiting the former Olympique Lyonnais and Southampton defender. Responding to Lovren’s transfer issue, Klopp chose to remain silent and not talk about it some time ago.

“There are no comments about Lovren. Potential for transfer or not, I do not want to talk about it,” said Klopp.

Kans Lovren from Liverpool is indeed quite open. The 30-year-old is a senior player who has strengthened the team from 2014, but, in the last two seasons lost his position won by Joel Matip.

Lovren did not even play in Liverpool’s first four matches in all competitions this season. Not only having to compete with Matip to become a tandem Virgil van Dijk, but Lovren also won it against Joe Gomez.

Paulo Fonseca’s Roma needs quality ammunition and experience at the back, especially after Kostas Manolas left for Naples. The fragility of their backline can be seen against Genoa on Monday (8/26) early morning Western Indonesian Time.

Pau Lopez’s goal conceded three goals in a match that ended in a 3-3 draw. Two new defenders were recruited, Gianluca Mancini (on loan from Atalanta) and Mert Cetin, still ‘green’, aka lack of experience. Lovren’s presence is expected to be a tandem for Juan Jesus or Federico Fazio at the heart of the defense.
