AS Roma Predicted by Totti will Only Compete in the Serie A Big Four

DBasia.news –  AS Roma legend Francesco Totti predicts his former club will only compete in the last four of Serie A 2019-20.

As a fan, Totti hopes his predictions about Rome’s trip this season were wrong. However, what Roma showed throughout the preseason strengthened Totti’s prediction. In five preseason matches, Roma did get four wins and one draw but the game shown by Il Giallorossi was not impressive.  

Evidence that Rome’s performance is still unstable is seen in the first week of the Italian League this season. Roma who against Genoa must be willing to share points because the match ended with the score 3-3. The Roma defense was very worrying in that match because it was easily dismantled.

The hard work of Cengiz Under (6′), Edin Dzeko (30′) and Aleksandar Kolarov (49′) who made the goal for Roma in vain when Genoa equalized through Andrea Pinamonti (16′), Domenico Criscito (43′) and Christian Kouame (70′). The fragility of the duo Juan Jesus and Federico Fazio in the heart of Rome’s defense at the match was truly detrimental. If not immediately make improvements, Rome is likely to have difficulties in the Italian League this season.

“I hope I’m wrong, but when you’ve played football for 30 years, you have good eyes. I think many fans like me hope that Rome looks great so they can return to the Champions League and hope the club works in that direction,” Totti said, as quoted by Football Italia, Thursday (29/08/2019).

“I think the top three have already been decided (Juventus, Inter Milan, and Napoli), so anything can happen after that. Unfortunately, Rome can only hope to fight for fourth place. That is the reality of the situation, seeing what happens in the preseason,” he concluded.
