DBasia.news – AS Roma got the Italian right-back Davide Zappacosta, who was on loan from Chelsea for one season.
Zappacosta joined the Giallorossi from the English club on a six-month loan that runs until January 2020.
As part of the agreement, there is an option to extend the loan until June 30, 2020.
“I am delighted to join Roma, having experience abroad that helped me develop as a player and personally,” said Zappacosta.
“Being able to play for a great club like this is a huge motivation – I can’t wait to start training with my new teammates.”
Zappacosta moved to Chelsea in the summer of 2017 from Torino – then won the FA Cup and Europa League in two seasons with the Premier League team.
“I am delighted to have Davide in the team once again,” said club Sports Director Gianluca Petrachi, who had worked with Zappacosta in Torino.
“Compared to the Zappacosta I know in Torino, Roma now have a footballer who has matured both as a player and personally after undergoing a valuable season in another league.
“I am confident that Davide will be able to make an important contribution during this season.”
Zappacosta will wear jersey number 2 in Rome.
He is the club’s seventh new player this summer, after the arrival of Leonardo Spinazzola, Amadou Diawara, Gianluca Mancini, Pau Lopez, Jordan Veretout, and Mert Cetin.
