DBasia.news –  AS Roma President James Pallotta said that the Stadio Olimpico replacement stadium would be built in mid-2022.

If the Rome City council approves the plan to build a new stadium owned by the Giallorossi which will be named the Stadio della Roma.

The discourse to build the Stadio dello Roma has long been in the minds of the leaders of Gialorossi. However, the corruption scandal that had occurred at the Rome city government council made the discourse often delayed.

“We already have enough land. In the future, the grandest and best stadiums in all of Southern Europe will be built,” James Pallotta said.

“We hope that the city council can immediately approve this plan next summer. After that, the construction process will be carried out in the middle of 2022. Later, our new stadium will not only hold soccer matches. But also music concerts and other festivals,” he added.

AS Roma and Lazio have been at the Stadio Olimpico since 1953. Besides the two clubs, the Italian national team has also used Olimpico several times to hold international matches.
