Barcelona frustrated for being left behind by Real Madrid

By db-admin

DBasia.news – Barcelona were stuck at the headquarters of Celta Vigo in the 32nd week of La Liga 2019/10, Saturday (06/27/2020). Barcelona only won a 2-2 draw. These results has made Barcelona threatened to be left behind by Real Madrid in the hunt for the title.

Barcelona took the lead through Luis Suarez’s goal in the 20th minute, but Celta equalized through Fedor Smolov in the 50th minute. Suarez broke into Celta’s goal on the 67th minutes, but Barcelona failed to win after Iago Aspas’s free kick tore their goal in the 88th minute.

Barcelona originally had 68 points, the same as Real Madrid. However, Barcelona is ranked second for losing head-to-head. Now, Madrid has a chance to lead the standings with a two-point advantage over Barcelona.

That would have happened if Real Madrid won at home to Espanyol on Monday (6/29/2020) AM.

“It feels negative,” Suarez said after the match against Celta, as quoted by Marca. “We lost two points in the La Liga champions’ competition.”

“Initially, everything was in our grip. However, now we have to wait for Real Madrid to lose points.”

“What we feel right now is frustration at losing two points.”

Even so, Suarez has not given up hope. He still believes in Barcelona’s chances. However, he also invited his team-mates to perform better.

“There are still tough matches waiting for us and them [Real Madrid],” Suarez continued.

Celta is a tough opponent, and so is Villarreal [in the 34th week]. There’s Atletico still this week. “

Suarez scored twice against Celta. However, Barcelona failed to win. One reason is the individual mistakes made by the players.

Barcelona have always drawn in their last two away games in La Liga. Before this, Barcelona drew 0-0 at Sevilla headquarters.

“I think that is the role of the coaches, to analyze these situations,” Suarez stated.

“We are there to give our best on the field.”

“Outside of home, we lost important points. That rarely happens in previous seasons,” concluded Suarez.
