Barcelona’s Presidential candidate mocks PSG about their Intention to Bring in Lionel Messi

By db-admin

DBasia.news – Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has openly expressed their intention to sign Lionel Messi. However, Barcelona’s presidential candidate, Joan Laporta considered this to be disrespectful.

Messi is now wanted by Europe’s top clubs after his contract with Barcelona will expire in the summer. The Blaugrana is still having trouble persuading La Pulga to extend his tenure.

PSG and Manchester City are the two strongest candidates for Messi’s newest port. However, only Les Parisiens has expressed its seriousness through their sporting director, Leonardo.

“Great players like Messi will always be on PSG’s list, but this is certainly not the time to talk about it, or dream about it,” Leonardo told France Football.

“But we sit at big tables with other clubs who are following this matter closely. Actually, no, we haven’t sat down yet, but our seats are reserved. “

The comments has reached Laporta. He considered Leonardo shouldn’t talk about players who are still under contract with other clubs.

“I don’t think that’s appropriate. Leonardo’s comments show their lack of experience at this level so they still have a lot to learn in the world of football,” Laporta told L’Equipe.

“I don’t know if this reaction was instinctive or if it was a communication blunder. For me, I always respect other clubs. “

Laporta is the strongest candidate to become the new Barcelona president. One of his promises if elected is to keep Messi.

Laporta certainly knows PSG is the biggest threat to persuade Messi to stay. So from that he has launched a counterattack through an insinuation.

“Maybe they can recruit him if they continue to violate Financial Fair Play rules. They had a significant loss last year, so I was wondering if they would ignore the FFP rules to recruit him,” he added.

“If that happens, I hope that UEFA and FIFA will react decisively and the Court of Arbitration for Sport will not hold back from delivering its verdict.”
