Benteke Targeted by Crystal Palace

DBasia.news –  The Premier League midfield team, Crystal Palace, is reportedly in the process of negotiating with Belgian striker, Christian Benteke.

Benteke began entering his final year in the contract he currently holds with Crystal Palace.

Having entered his final days with Palace, Benteke could have left Selhurst Park for free, if the club’s management did not offer a new contract. And that is what Crystal Palace is doing.

At present, Benteke receives a salary of 120 thousand per week, equivalent to Rp 2.1 billion.

However, after seeing Benteke’s last appearance, it was reported that the club, dubbed The Eagles, wanted to cut the player’s salary.

Because, of the last 50 appearances in the Premier League, Benteke only scored 4 goals. This is certainly a performance that is below the standard for player in Benteke’s caliber.

Palace coach, Roy Hodgson, said that the decision to retain Benteke was entirely in the hands of the club’s management. However, he believes that club officials are negotiating with the former Aston Villa and Liverpool player.

“I think the club is negotiating with him (Benteke),” Hodgson said. “I cannot give details about the negotiations, as the process was held by the officials in private.”
