Claudio Ranieri returns to train AS Roma

DBasia.news –  AS Roma made a safe decision when looking for substitute Eusebio Di Francesco as coach of the Giallorossi. Roma points back Claudio Ranieri as a coach with the duration of the contract until the end of the 2018-19 season.

“I am happy to return home. When Rome calls you, it is impossible to say no,” said Ranieri, quoted from the official website of AS Roma. Ranieri, 67, had trained Rome in mid-2009-2011.

Aside from training Roma, Ranieri was indeed a native born in Rome, Italy, October 20, 1951. Recognized by Francesco Totti, Director of Rome, Ranieri’s appointment was based on a safe choice to lift his performance until the end of the 2018-19 season.

“Claudio from this city, he is a Roma fan and more than that, he is one of the most experienced coaches in the world of football,” said Totti.

“What we need now is the club is in the right hands to return us to the top four and make sure, we play the Champions League again next season. We have 12 games left and we have to win as much as possible.”

Roma brought Ranieri after firing Di Francesco. The former Sassuolo coach was sacked after Rome’s failure to qualify for the last eight of the Champions League, after losing 3-4 aggregate goals to FC Porto.

“We are happy to welcome Claudio Ranieri back. We still have one target left this season and that is the highest possible finish in the league, then securing a place in the Champions League zone,” added Jim Pallotta, President of Rome.

There is a unique note behind Ranieri’s appointment. Roma became the third club he trained in the past 12 months. The Thinker’s journey begins with Nantes, then trains Fulham, and is now with Roma.

Wolves The capital city still has the chance to enter the top four of Serie A aka the Champions League zone. Currently, Roma is in the order of five standings with 44 points, three points adrift of Inter Milan who are ranked fourth.
