DBasia.news – Wing striker of England, Raheem Sterling, will end in 2020. However, Manchester City moved quickly from now to ensure the former Liverpool player will stay longer at Etihad Stadium.
Hence, City have prepared the budget to increase his salary. Reported by BBC, Manchester City’s effort seemed worked out. Verbally, Sterling agreed to renew the contract with The Citizens.
The 23-year-old striker accepted the contract renewal with salary upgraded twice from the current amount.
With his new contract, Sterling will get £300,000 or Rp5,8 billion weekly salary. This brings him as England highest-paid player worldwide.
The contract renewal was hard and lengthy. At least in 12 recent months, the club offered him many times. But it always failed. The trigger was salary, including the bonus. Currently, Sterling gets a £180,000 weekly salary.
Sterling joined City from Liverpool in 2015 worth £49M. With City, Sterling contributed 48 goals in 151 matches. Last season, Sterling performed impressively with 23 goals of all competitions with City.
