DBasia.news –  David Silva has chosen his successor at Manchester City. The 33-year-old Spanish attacking midfielder confirmed his departure from The Citizens at the end of the 2019 season, just as soon as Silva strengthened the club.

Silva appointed Phil Foden as his successor at Man City. The former Valencia player saw great talent from the 19-year-old. Moreover, Silva also likes the characters that Foden has.

“I am sure he (Foden) will be a fantastic player. He is a very good man and he will be a good substitute for me. Apart from his natural abilities, he is a very competitive figure,” said Silva, quoted from Goal.

“He always wants to win and that makes him a very good footballer. When you are young, you always ask people with experience. I have given him lots of suggestions, like the way he moves in matches.”

“He received that information and kept getting better every day. He reminded me of myself when I was young – specifically how he was as a person. He was very quiet, but always there to compete. He hated defeat.”

Silva, who had won Euro twice and one World Cup with the Spanish national team, advised Foden to always be calm in facing various moments or problems faced.

“The best advice I can give to him is to stay calm. Whatever happens in football, up and down, always remains calm,” added Silva.
