Logo perayaan 100 tahun klub Valencia
DBasia.news – Valencia’s new logo was created to celebrate their 100th anniversary. However, the logo was disputed by DC Comics because it resembled the Batman logo.
Valencia celebrates its 100th anniversary on March 18, 2019. The club based at the Mestalla Stadium is one of the most successful teams in Spain.
During its 100 years of existence, Valencia won 22 prestigious trophies. These include LaLiga, Copa del Rey, and the 2004 UEFA Cup.
In celebration of one century, Valencia launched a special logo. The emblem accentuates the usual bat image on the players’ left chest.
The 100-year-old Valencia logo is considered to be similar to DC Comics’ Batman symbol. As a result, they accepted the demands.
DC Comics submitted a claim to the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO). They considered the Valencia logo too similar to the bat that is usually in Batman.
Even so, Valencia felt he had made no mistake. They consider using the bat logo first compared to Batman.
“We will not stop using bat logos because of DC Comics. No trademark in this world has an exclusivity about bats,” Valencia wrote an official statement.
Valencia’s statement itself is quite grounded because they have been established since 1919. Meanwhile, Batman has only been published for the first time on the 27th edition of Detective Comics in 1939, or 20 years ago.
