By db-admin
DBasia.news – Real Madrid managed to beat Alaves 2-0 in the 35th week of La Liga match 2019-2020 at the Alfredo Di Stefano Stadium on Saturday (11/7). After the victory, Los Blancos called a great chance to win the title.
Appearing without Sergio Ramos who underwent a card accumulation sanction did not really affect Madrid’s game. Zinedine Zidane’s team continue to appear dominant.
Madrid have even been able to open the scoring when the game has only been running for eleven minutes through the penalty spot. The penalty was awarded by the referee after Ximo Navarro was considered fouled Ferland Mendy in the forbidden box.
There was no Ramos, Karim Benzema took responsibility for being the executor of the penalty. The Frenchman successfully carried out his duties and brought the home team to lead 1-0.
After winning, Madrid increasingly comfortable dominating the match. But no additional goals were created in the remainder of the first half.
After halftime, Alaves tried to appear more aggressive to catch up. They diid need points to stay away from the relegation zone.
But the decision made the Alaves defense line to be more open. Madrid players have more room to attack.
As the result, in just five minutes of the second half running, Alaves’ goalkeeper conceded again. This time it was Marco Asensio’s turn to register his name on the scoreboard using Benzema’s great pass.
The goal was annulled as Benzema was thought to be in an offside position before sending the pass to Asensio. But through VAR, it was not proven so that the score changed to 2-0 for Madrid.
Winning two goals did not make Madrid reduce the pressure. The entry of Vinicius Junior, Eden Hazard, and Isco in the rest of the match further added their aggressiveness.
Even so, no additional goals were created until the referee blew the long whistle after the match was over. Madrid successfully won three points and keep a distance from Barcelona.
Madrid are now four points ahead with three matches remaining. They need at least two more wins to lock in the title.
