Emery Coaching Style Similar to Benitez
By news-admin
DBasia.news – Jamie Carragher assumed Unai Emery has a similar managerial style as the former Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez.
Unai Emery took over Arsenal’s leadership from Arsene Wenger after the disappointing 2017-2018 season. The Gunners ended the competition in the 6th position and failed to qualify for the Champions League.
The former Paris Saint-Germain brought 5 players in the summer transfer market to enhance the options ahead of the Premier League.
Arsenal started to sign the experienced player like Stephan Lichtsteiner from Juventus freely.
Besides, The Gunners got the Greece national team player, Sokratis Papastathopoulos from Borussia Dortmund to enhance their defense quality. Emery can also get an additional power from the Sampdoria midfielder, Lucas Torreira.
The former Liverpool defender, Carragher, explained the expectation from ARsenal’s supporters by the changing of Wenger in the 2018-2019 Premier League.
“He is going to be a very similar manager to a manager I had in Rafa Benitez, going from a team that wasn’t one of the giants in Spain but was still competing and winning trophies,” Carragher told Sky Sports.
“He makes it difficult for teams to play against them and will play 4-2-3-1. It will be very similar to Rafa.”
Arsenal will start the Premier League journey by playing against the defending champion Manchester City at Emirates Stadium, Sunday (12/8).
