DBasia.news – Cardiff City are waiting anxiously of their newly-recruited player, Emiliano Sala. His plane vanished in the Channel Islands.
The small plane called Piper Malibu lost contact from Nantes, France, to Cardiff. In that plane, AFP reported there is Sala who just signed by Cardiff worth £18M.
“We are awaiting confirmation before we can say anything further. We are very concerned for the safety of Emiliano Sala,” said Cardiff Chairman Mehmet Dalman to Sky Sports.
AFP added the Piper Malibu lost from the radar around 20 kilometers north from Guernsey Island. The local police confirmed the search after the lost contact. But, the search is paused for a while due to the situation.
“The rescue mission was forced to stop at 2am because of poor weather, sea and visibility conditions,” said Guernsey Police statement.
“The aircraft departed Nantes at 7.15pm for Cardiff and was flying at 5000 feet. They added that the aircraft requested descent on passing Guernsey and that Jersey air traffic control lost contact while the plane was at 2300 feet.”
This news is concerning. Sala just signed the 3,5-year contract with Cardiff. This season, the Argentinian 28-year-old striker scored 12 goals in Ligue 1 and signed by Cardiff to maintain the chance of escaping the relegation zone.
“I’m very happy to be here. It gives me great pleasure and I can’t wait to start training, meet my new team-mates and get down to work. For me, it feels special (to be the club’s record signing),” Sala said recently.
