DBasia.news –  There were no significant changes at Arsenal even though the club was no longer trained by Arsene Wenger. Emmanuel Petit, an Arsenal legend, instead attacked the board of directors who were too stingy to spend money on players.

As is known, Arsenal’s management is known as a club that rarely spends large funds to recruit their targeted players. In fact, the Gunners –Arsenal’s nickname- is actually one of the richest teams in the world today.

Arsenal’s transfer policy was also difficult for them to land the targeted players. They often lose competition with other clubs who are more willing to spend large sums of money to attract players who are targeted.

Even in the winter transfer market yesterday, Unai Emery admitted difficulties to strengthen Arsenal’s squad because they did not get funds to buy new players. Petit also seems very upset with the transfer policy adopted by his former club.

“I feel that Emery’s level of frustration must have reached a very high level in the second transfer market as an Arsenal coach, he can’t buy anyone,” Petit said, as quoted by Soccerway , Tuesday (2/5/2019).

“Look at the money spent by Manchester United, Liverpool and Manchester City, and unless you join them and put money on the table to compete for the best players, you won’t go anywhere,” he continued.

“If you fire Arsene Wenger and say to the person who replaced him, that you don’t have the money to buy a new player, I will ask what it means to fire Wenger from the start,” the Frenchman finished.
