England National Team Defender Respected Leicester’s Decision from Selling Him to MU
By news-admin
DBasia.news – Leicester City central defender Harry Maguire respected his team’s decision to refuse the offer to him. Previously, he rumored to be one of Manchester United’s targets.
Harry Maguire performed excellently in the 2018 World Cup. Playing as the defender, the player brought England national team to the semifinal.
No wonder, some England and Europe clubs aimed him, including Manchester United who are looking for a new defender.
“I want to be on the pitch, whether it is for someone else or for Leicester,” Maguire said reported by Soccerway.
“There was always going to be interest over the summer after the team doing so well in Russia, but the owners reiterated I was not for sale and I respected their decision,” the England national team player said.
Leicester City recruited Harry Maguire from Hull City worth £12,33M in 2017 summer transfer market. Currently, the 25-year-old player tied in contract until June 2022.
“They gave me the opportunity to play for this club, such a good club on the rise and I respected their decision. My mind has been fully on Leicester since then,” Maguire mentioned.
“I’m an ambitious player and I think we have a really good, talented squad. If we stick together, we can be a real force this year,” Maguire said.
