DBasia.news – Ajax Amsterdam coach, Erik ten Hag, saluted the appearance of his foster children when playing at Tottenham Hotspur’s headquarters in the first leg of the Champions League semi-final, Wednesday (1/5) WIB.
The only goal with an away goal in the match was created by Donny van de Beek on the 15th minute. After the goal, the match ran tightly in fighting over the ball in midfield, a game that was seen from 52 Tottenham possession versus 48 percent Ajax.
De Godenzonen – Ajax nickname – had a difficult time playing Tottenham, but because he had a good fighting spirit, goalkeeper, Andre Onana, was safe from conceding and this became a good capital for the second leg later.
“A great achievement (at Tottenham headquarters). We fought like lions. In the first half, we played football very well and scored the goals we deserved. We dominated, but afterwards failed to play football well,” said Ten Hag on Goal.
“In that phase we have more opportunities as we can score more goals. Even so, this is a good result. I’m sure Tottenham got a vision (about playing style) from this fight, but so did we.”
“We’ve been through half of the way, that’s how you should say. We are in a good position, but next week should be better than today. I am very satisfied with our development,” concluded Pep Guardiola’s former assistant.
The second leg will take place at Johan Cruyff Arena, Thursday (9/5) at 2:00 a.m. WIB. The fight will still take place as Ajax is only ahead 1-0 away on aggregate.
