DBasia.news – Filipe Luis officially left Atletico Madrid. The Brazilian defender said goodbye before heading to the club in his hometown, Flamengo.
During his all 333 appearances for Atletico Madrid, a number of his achievements have indeed been achieved. Starting from one LaLiga trophy, one Copa del Rey, to twice the Europa League champions. Luis could not resist having to say goodbye directly.
“I want to thank Miguel Angel Gil Marin who has trusted me. Even though I got injured when on loan at Deportivo, and also when I had to go and play for Chelsea. Thank you for treating me well,” he said.
“Also for my colleagues on the team. We have overcome many obstacles both in times of difficulty and pleasure. I am very honored to be able to spend the best moments of my career with this club. Thank you to all who have played a team with me here,” he continued.
Luis defended Atletico Madrid in two periods. He had an adventure with Chelsea during the season in 2014/15. His short visit resulted in a Premier League trophy when still coached by Jose Mourinho.
“I have put everything into this uniform. Now, it’s time for younger players to replace. I did not suspect that I would pass 333 matches with Atletico Madrid,” he concluded.
