DBasia.news – The popularity of ESports is trending. Champions League, the best Europe tournament in the world, joins the trend and participates.
UEFA as the management of Champions League collaborates with EA Sports. They released eChampions League, the ESports version of Champions League.
The competition will commence in 2019. Later, eChampions League will take place in FIFA 19 video game.
The tournament is dedicated for PlayStation 4 players. The total prize reaches $280,000 (Rp4,1 billion).
The winner will get $100,000 (Rp1,47 billion). The number brings Champions League as FIFA Tournament with the second highest prize.
It’s just behind the ESports World Cup. Later, eChampions League will be the qualification of FIFA 19 Global Series.
The participants must join the online qualification to perform in ESports Champions League. After that, the best 64 players will enter the qualification event.
The final will be conducted in Madrid on May 31st, 2019. That is one day before the Champions League final at Wanda Metropolitano Stadium.
The committee has a special requirement for this event. The players must establish an Ultimate Team consists of players who once joined the Champions League group phase.
