DBasia.news – Fiorentina had successfully recruited the 36-year-old winger, Franck Ribery. La Viola recruited Ribery for free as he no longer has a club since leaving Bayern Munchen this summer.
“ACF Fiorentina announced that the club has recruited Franck Ribery. The new player will be introduced tomorrow (22/8 local time) at 5.30 pm in the Manuela Righini media room at Artemio Franchi,” wrote an official statement on Fiorentina’s website.
The French player chose Fiorentina as his new port after 12 years playing for Bayern. The role of Luca Toni, former Fiorentina and Bayern Munich striker, is crucial behind Ribery’s decision to choose Fiorentina.
“I am happy, I am here with my family. I have been talking to Fiorentina for the past week, as well as Toni, who told me that Fiorentina is a great club in a beautiful city,” Ribery said as quoted by Football-Italy.
“I am happy to be here, even though the language is (different). My language is not perfect, but it doesn’t matter,” continued the product of the Boulogne academy.
Ribery’s playing experience, who once defended Olympique Marseille, Galatasaray and Bayern, will be very useful for Vincenzo Montella’s Fiorentina. Ribery’s adaptation process will be assisted by two of his compatriots, Valentin Eysseric and Cyril Thereau.
Ribery became Fiorentina’s eighth recruitment this summer after the club recruited: Erick Pulgar, Aleksa Terzic, Kevin-Prince Boateng, Pol Lirola, Milan Badelj, Riccardo Baroni and Pietro Terracciano.
