Gareth Bale is considered to be a better athlete than Cristiano Ronaldo

DBasia.news – Former Real Madrid team doctor, Jesus Olmo rates that Gareth Bale is the best athlete in the club. Olmo’s assessment has made Bale better than his former colleague, Cristiano Ronaldo.

Bale and Ronaldo have played together at Real Madrid for five years with four Champions League titles. Now Ronaldo is no longer in Madrid as he has defended Juventus since the summer of 2018.

Jesus Olmo has handled players such as Ronaldo, Bale, Sergio Ramos, Karim Benzema, and other Madrid players. However, among them only Bale has made him unnerved.

“Perhaps the best athlete I have ever seen is Gareth Bale. He is a natural athlete who is able to excel in almost all sports,” Jesus Olmo told Ideal.

“He has unusual genetics and athletic abilities, and I would say technical abilities as well. He impressed me the most in all aspects, even though there were performances (judgments) that emerged from different circumstances.”

Nevertheless Bale’s appearance since joining Madrid from Tottenham Hotspur in 2013 was often inconsistent which led to transfer rumors. Moreover, he was rarely played by Zinedine Zidane and disliked by Real Madrid fans.

Bale is considered more concerned with the Wales national team and golf rather than his career in Madrid until the transfer rumors emerged. Moreover, he often suffers from injuries. Regarding the injury Olmo also acknowledged it.

“All athletes have their own shortcomings. People only see when a player is injured, but there are football players who play when they have physical problems,” Bale added.

“A good medical team makes sure that you have chronic problems to a minimum, but the only way to overcome them is to work hard and be great in a targeted way. That requires effort and a lot depends on the player.”

“Nothing can reduce the performance of high-level athletes more than chronic pain. Resolving the problem of small tendons is the best thing you can do for a football player,” concluded Bale.
