Gattuso Won’t Pair Piatek and Cutrone in Milan’s Front Line

DBasia.news –  AC Milan coach Gennaro Gattuso won’t pair Krzysztof Piatek and Patrick Cutrone in the front line. He won’t pair them to keep the balance of Milan.

AC Milan played 0-0 against Napoli on the 21st-week of Serie A at San Siro Stadium, Saturday (26/1). In that match, Gattuso sent Cutrone as the bomber.

When Gonzalo Higuain was still with them, Gattuso often paired him with Cutrone. But, in the match against Napoli, the Italian coach won’t pair Cutrone with the new striker, Krzysztof Piatek.

Piatek just entered the pitch on the second half, substituting Cutrone. Thus, AC Milan played with 4-3-3 formation until the final whistle.

“Now, they can not play together not because of their characteristics but because of the team’s balance. This season we tried to play seven / eight games with the two strikers and I always had the feeling of leaving something on the street,” Gattuso said cited by Calciomercato.

“I think that if this team were able to make mistakes as little as possible, the transition phase could do a lot more, keep the ball well. We have to analyze in these 21 games,” Gattuso continued.

“Leave a little ‘to be desired in the last 25 meters and we miss more than something in the last step. It is my great regret,” Gattuso insisted.

The additional one point didn’t change AC Milan’s position in the fourth rank with 35 points. Meanwhile, Napoli are still in the second round after collecting 48 points from 21 matches.
