Green Light From British Government For Premier League
By db-admin
DBasia.news – The British Ministry of Culture, Media and Sports claims to have held talks with the Premier League as soon as possible to continue the league competition in 2019-2020.
British Culture, Media and Sports Minister Oliver Dowden said in a question and answer session in parliament that his side fully supports the league could go back.
“I personally have spoken with the Premier League with a view that football can be rolled as soon as possible to support the whole football community,” Dowden said.
“But of course, that step must be in line with the health protocol,” he continued.
The English League competition has been suspended since March 13 and the period is extended at least until April 30. The British government also still applies lockdown until May 7.
However, three English League clubs, namely Arsenal, West Ham, Tottenham Hotspur, and Brighton have re-opened their training ground by continuing to implement social distancing protocols.
Premier League clubs will still hold a virtual meeting this Friday to evaluate various options for completing the league. If possible, the continuation of the competition is expected to be held as soon as June.
