DBasia.news – Racism is a big issue that is trying to be eliminated in Europe. Nevertheless, it is not easy to erase it, some countries such as Italy, Russia, and England, the issue is still difficult to handle.
Last season, London police arrested a 17-year-old teenager ahead of the Tottenham Hotspur match against Chelsea in the semi-finals of the English League Cup first leg at Wembley Stadium on Tuesday (8/1) local time or Wednesday morning Western Indonesian Time. Based on reports, the teenager was arrested for carrying out racial acts.
The incident was only days after a Chelsea fan was fined 965 pounds and banned from entering the stadium for three years after being found guilty of racist action. This had tarnished English football as a whole.
Slightly backward or more precisely in December 2018, Chelsea sentenced four supporters not to watch the match while the investigation went on alleged racial abuse to Manchester City striker Raheem Sterling.
In the same month, Chelsea also issued a strong warning after a racial song was heard during the Europa League match against MOL Vidi in Hungaria.
Not surprisingly, several players also voiced action against Racism. Eden Hazard considered, there needs to be a struggle without being tired to make football free from racism.
“That is a big problem, not only in England but also everywhere. That is why we are talking about this tonight,” explained Eden Hazard while attending a program to eradicate racism in football.
“However, we can beat that if we talk to the media. We will try to stop this. It is difficult, but the more people speak, the greater the chance to solve the problem,” said Hazard.
Although most of the above events were carried out by Chelsea supporters, in fact, Manchester United supporters were the most racist in England.
Since 2015, Manchester United is a team with the most arrested supporters for racism. According to records, 27 Red Devils supporters have been secured.
