Manchester United

DBasia.news –  Every season there are always casualties for injured players, especially in the world’s busiest league, the Premier League. Last season, the 2018-19 season, swallowed many casualties on injured players.

Either it’s recognizable or not, last season was quite tiring. This usually happens if the competition runs after the World Cup title. A few players started the season in a drained condition.

This situation also directly or indirectly contributed to the many players who suffered injuries throughout the past season. Injuries are always present, but the post-World Cup period increases the chances of players being injured. In competitions that have tight matches and tight schedules, injuries are certainly crucial.

Here are four Premier League clubs that have been most frequently injured during the 2018-19 season.

1. Manchester United (61)

Compared to other clubs, the amount of injuries that occoured to Manchester United was extraordinary. Red Devils were recorded with injuries as many as 61 times, or 19 times more than the second place.

Even in the match against Liverpool which ended 0-0 at Old Trafford, injuries fell on four players at once. Can this be the reason why the Red Devils failed to break into the top four?

2. Tottenham Hotspur (42)

Undoubtably, Tottenham Hotspur was able to end the season with extraordinary results.  They were able to finish in the top four and appear in the Champions League final without purchasing a new player.

Amazingly, the achievement was achieved after they were hit by injuries 42 times. The njured players are considered to have an important role in the team, such as Dele Alli, Moussa Sissoko, and their goal barn Harry Kane.

3. Liverpool (37)

Similar to Tottenham, Liverpool can be proud of their achievements last season. They were able to finish second in the Premier League after competing with the champions, Manchester City until the last week. The Reds also successfully won their sixth Champions League trophy after smothering Hotspur in the final.

All of that was achieved even though Jurgen Klopp’s side were beaten by an injury 37 times. The average injury that occured was in a long duration. For example, Liverpool cannot use the services of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, almost all season. Even with Naby Keita, Joe Gomes, or Roberto Firmino.

4. Huddersfield and Newcastle (36)

Unlike Liverpool and Tottenham who were able to overcome the problem of injury, Huddersfield was thrown out of the Premier League.

While the fate of Newcastle United is a little better. Rafa Benitez’s troops can still survive relegation despite being injured 36 times.

5. Arsenal (35)

Arsenal is already familiar with injuries. Injuries always disrupt their pace in the Premier League every season.

Last season, the Gunners were plagued by injuries 35 times. Last season, they could not maximize their mainstay players like Aaron Ramsey or Hector Bellerin. Even Bellerin is likely to be absent earlier next season.
