Jan Vertonghen Thinks Spurs Current Squad Deserve the Trophy

However, Pochettino hasn’t succeeded in bringing Spurs to achieve the champion title. Actually, he has the chance to end the title drought in the League Cup. Unfortunately, the dream vanished after the failure against Chelsea in the penalty shootout.

Despite the failure in the League Cup, Jan Vertonghen hopes Pochettino squad will end the title drought since 2008.

So far, The Lilywhites biggest chance in getting the trophy is in the FA Cup because, in the Premier League, they are 9 points behind the leader, Liverpool.

“Obviously, we were all disappointed on Thursday, but it brings us together,” Vertonghen said cited by Goal.

“Winning something would definitely mean a lot. I don’t know how many years to come, but, hopefully, this year we can. The FA Cup is very important,” he concluded.

The Lilywhites will have their FA Cup journey this season against Crystal Palace.
