DBasia.news –  Liverpool is in its heyday from 2019 until the beginning of 2020. The captain Johan Henderson is considered a factor Liverpool could be in his heyday. Evidenced by the appointment of Henderson as the 2019 Premier League Men’s Best Player.

According to the official website of the FA (English Football Association), Jordan Henderson defeated his compatriots like Raheem Sterling (Manchester City) and Harry Kane (Tottenham Hotspur). This is the first award he received in that category.

Previously, Henderson won the Sunderland Best Young Player award twice, Liverpool’s Best Young Player once, and the England Under-21 Player of the Year in 2012. The election of Henderson could not be separated from his leadership which led Liverpool to win three trophies in 2019.

After winning the 2018-19 Champions League, Jurgen Klopp’s Reds continued with the European Super Cup and Club World Cup trophies. In addition, Liverpool has not been touched by defeat in the Premier League in 2019-20.

That note was enough to displace Sterling who won the domestic treble last season in the Premier League, FA Cup and League Cup with Manchester City. Throughout 2019 Sterling also scored 35 goals and provided 14 assists.

Nevertheless, Sterling’s contribution to Man City was still inferior to Henderson who led Liverpool’s midfield, either as an anchor (defensive) midfielder or offensive.

While Kane, who is currently injured, is third behind Henderson and Sterling with a score of 12 goals in 10 games with the England national team in 2019. But Kane did not win any trophy with Tottenham Hotspur.

In addition to the 2019 England Best Male Player award, another category in the 2019 England Best Female Player was won by Lucy Bronze for the second time in a row. Bronze, 28 years old, ahead of Ellen White and Beth Mead. Bronze currently plays at Olympique Lyonnais and has won the Champions League.
