DBasia.news – Jurgen Klopp was only able to laugh when Liverpool goalkeeper Adrian, made a blunder that turned into a goal when against Southampton.
Liverpool continued the positive trend in the 2019-2020 season by overcoming Southampton. Playing at St Mary’s Stadium, the Reds won 2-1 over the home team.
Liverpool’s two winning goals were scored by Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino. Meanwhile, Southampton made up the gap thanks to Adrian’s blunders.
Starting from Virgil van Dijk’s bait, Adrian gave a pass that lead to Danny Ings. The 27-year-old player struck the ball into the goal of his former club.
After the match, Jurgen Klopp admitted to be laughing at Adrian’s blunder. The German manager assesses that this usually happens under Liverpool’s goal.
“In the 83rd minute, Adrian thought he was playing well enough and felt he had to make mistakes to look like Alisson. That also made the game be a bit open,” Jurgen Klopp said.
“I told him, you finally made a mistake, welcome. Alisson made the same mistake, maybe this is common for Liverpool goalkeepers.”
“To be honest I have no problem with mistakes like that. The most important thing is that Liverpool won. Besides, I’m satisfied with Adrian’s game,” continued Jurgen Klopp.
The victory has made Liverpool lead the Premier League standings. The Reds collected six points, only on goal differences with Arsenal in second place.
