Karim Benzema is Real Madrid’s Best Player of 2019

DBasia.news –  Spanish newspaper Marca, assessed that Madrid’s ferocious appearance cannot be separated from the role of striker, Karim Benzema. The reason is, throughout 2019, Benzema is in his best performance.

Benzema became the club’s main goal-scorer, with a record of 35 goals in 50 matches played by Madrid. The amount is indeed much less than Robert Lewandowski (48), Lionel Messi (45) and Kylian Mbappe (39).

However, since the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo in the summer of 2018, the French striker has become the single most productive player in Los Merengues.

The 32-year-old striker managed to net the ball 30 times in 2018/2019, recording only two fewer goals than the 2011/2012 season. In addition, Benzema spent more time on the field in 2019 than his team-mates.

Benzema collected 4,222 minutes, followed by compatriot, Raphael Varane, with 3,940, and midfielder, Casemiro, with a time of 3,910.

Not only that, Benzema became the only player in 117 years of the club’s history to score in eight consecutive matches.

“What has changed is the number of goals. I am confident and the help of my teammates is the key. I want to win the league title,” Benzema said some time ago.

Benzema has scored 16 goals in all competitions so far in the 2019/2020 season, with 12 of his goals coming in the Spanish La Liga competition.
