DBasia.news – The CEO of Bayern Munich, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, talked about James Rodriguez’s future at Bayern Munich. James has entered his second season in Germany and the end of his loan period with Real Madrid.
Bayern have two options for James: to close his contract for 42 million euros or return him to Madrid. Rummenigge has not spoken to the 27-year-old, however, he indicated that he would defend Rummenigge.
“No, we haven’t made a decision (about James’s future). He asked me to speak, but we haven’t done it yet,” Rummenigge said, quoted from Goal.
“Shortly, we will talk and then we will continue to monitor the situation. I like him. I always say it – and it remains so,” he continued.
In addition to talking about James, Rummenigge also denied the existence of a meeting to replace Niko Kovac, Bayern’s coach, with former Madrid coach Julen Lopetegui.
“I think there is no such meeting, we are not talking about the topic of coaching at Bayern Munich. Honestly, I do not know him (Lopetegui). I also did not follow him – whether it was in the national team or Real Madrid,” concluded Rummenigge.
