By news-admin
DBasia.news – Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp praised Alisson debut performance after The Reds defeated Napoli 5-0 during the friendly match in Aviva Stadium, Dublin, Saturday (4/8).
Liverpool won 5 goals by James Milner, Georginio Wijnaldum, Mohamed Salah, Daniel Sturridge, and Alberto Moreno. Meanwhile, Alisson who played in full time made some excellent savings.
Klopp assumed Alisson will have a promising future. Moreover, the match was the first debut for the Brasil national team goalkeeper.
“He’s quite a good footballer — probably as good as the goalie he is!” Klopp said reported by Soccerway.
“An all-round good performance for the first game, especially because I think everyone can imagine what happens inside a human being in a situation like that, playing the first game after all the things that were written about it and all that stuff,” Klopp mentioned.
“We involved him a lot in our build up, but we need to get used to that a little bit more still — that’s clear [and] he needs to get used to it a little bit more, but there were a lot of good build-up situations, so that helps. But at the end he’s there to catch balls and he did that in all the decisive moments today, so I’m really pleased,” Klopp said.
Liverpool broke the transfer fee record after getting Alisson Becker from AS Roma worth 75 million euro. The 25-year-old goalkeeper signed the contract until June 2024.
