DBasia.news – Leroy Sane was injured when the Community Shield took place between Manchester City against Liverpool at Wembley on Sunday (4/8) night Western Indonesian Time. Pep Guardiola, City manager, gave the latest news from the injury.
The Citizens beat the Reds in a 4-5 penalty shoot-out after Georginio Wijnaldum’s penalty was pushed over by Claudio Bravo. In normal time, Joel Matip’s goal leveled after Raheem Sterling scored in the first half.
Sane was replaced by Jesus in the 13th minute after being seen falling and groaning in pain while fighting for the ball with Trent Alexander-Arnold. Allegedly the German wing attacker injured his knee.
Guardiola doesn’t know the details of Sane’s injury. However, according to him the injury suffered by the 23-year-old player is not severe and he will recover quickly.
“The first impression is not good (Sane’s injury). But, I think the injury is not serious, I don’t know because I have not talked to the doctor. I will look forward to it, but I think he will be fine,” Guardiola said, quoted by Manchester Evening News.
Sane has recently become a major topic in the summer transfer market. Because Bayern Munich really want him to be a substitute for Franck Ribery on the left side of the team’s attack.
