DBasia.news – Manchester City continued their victory momentum while visiting Schalke’s headquarters in the Champions League last 16 first leg, Thursday (21/2) WIB. Among the celebrations made by City players, Leroy Sane was actually disappointed.
Sane claimed to have a small amount of sadness in him seeing the final result of the Schalke match against Man City. As a former Schalke player, he couldn’t feel really happy when they failed to win. Therefore, these feelings enveloped him after the match was held.
Sense of sadness increasingly overwhelmed Sane’s feelings as he participated and contributed to the victory of Man City. The German player created an equalizer goal in the second half. His free kick broke into Schalke’s goal and made the score 2-2. The match finally ended with Man City’s 3-2 victory.
Despite failing to win, Sane still gave great appreciation to the players and Schalke supporters. According to him, they really performed amazingly in the match so that it had made it difficult for Man City to win.
“This game is very meaningful. I am a little sad for Schalke because the atmosphere here is as usual very extraordinary. Schalke is playing this game very well, their defense is difficult for us,” Sane told the Manchester Evening News.
