Lionel Messi Refuses to train Together

DBasia.news – Star player, Lionel Messi continues to beat the war drums with club FC Barcelona. He refused to take the pre-season corona virus test on Sunday (8/30/2020) so he was confirmed not to join the training session on Monday (31/8/2020).

The health test is a stage that all Barcelona players must pass before undergoing pre-season training the next day. Apart from checking the condition of the body, a PCR test to detect the corona virus is also included.

As is known, Messi has expressed his desire to leave Barcelona to the officials. He asked management to terminate his remaining one year contract so he could leave for free.

However, Barcelona refused this wish. The Blaugrana management even rejected Messi’s offer to negotiate this matter.

Reported by Mundo Deportivo, Messi’s decision not to undergo Barcelona’s medical test was a suggestion from his lawyer. The 33-year-old player is also almost certain to miss his first training session under Ronald Koeman.

Messi did feel he could leave Barcelona for free by taking advantage of one of his contract clauses that allowed him to leave at the end of each season. Even though the deadline stated in the agreement was June 10.

But Messi believes that this season the deadline does not apply. This refers to the delay in the competition schedule which only ended in August due to the coronavirus pandemic. It is yet to be known how Barcelona responded to Messi’s decision to skip the medical examination. Normally, the player will be subjected to a fine even though that will further heat up the tension between the two parties.
