Lionel Messi Reportedly Leaving Barcelona Next Year
By db-admin
DBasia.news – Lionel Messi reportedly refused to extend his contract with Barcelona. The rejection was reportedly due to an internal conflict that occurred at the Catalan club that never ends.
The rumor was claimed by Spanish journalist Manu Carreno on a radio broadcast on Cadena Ser. He said Messi had made up his mind to leave Barcelona once his contract expires in 2021.
Barcelona actually intended to retain their flagship player by giving a two-year contract extension. The two sides have begun to negotiate even though they have not yet agreed.
But the series of bad results and internal conflicts that have plagued Barcelona this season seems to have made Messi change his mind. He was already uncomfortable in Barcelona.
Messi had several times been involved in a feud with Barcelona management. One of them when he collided with the director of sports, Eric Abidal related to the dismissal of Ernesto Valverde.
Not only that, Messi also had satirized the Barcelona’s transfer activity who had difficulty of bringing Neymar back. He said the current squad is not strong enough to win the Champions League.
The 33-year-old striker has also been accused of rejecting salary policies for the corona virus pandemic effect. Although Messi strongly denied the allegations.
Finally, Messi was caught on camera ignoring the instructions of Barcelona coach Eder Sarabia during a 2-2 draw with Celta Vigo. The incident illustrates how frustrated La Pulga is today.
If this rumor really happened, of course many clubs are ready to queue to get Messi. Inter Milan and Manchester City are two of the leading clubs trying to make it happen.
