Man City Still Want to Buy More Midfielder
By news-admin
DBasia.news – Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola said that he is still targeting one more midfielder in this 2018 summer transfer market. But, Guardiola didn’t mention a name.
Manchester City are looking for a defending midfielder. Initially, they wanted to get Jorginho from Napoli.
However, Jorginho chose to join Chelsea. In fact, Manchester City had reached an agreement with Napoli.
The situation made Manchester City related to some other midfielders like Miralem Pjanic, Mateo Kovacic, and Marco Verratti.
After refusing the rumor with Pjanic, Guardiola confirmed his intention to get a midfielder. He admitted the approach to Manchester City midfielder.
“I don’t know (about new signings), we are trying. We would like to find maybe one more,” Guardiola said.
“Because we don’t have players to substitute Fernandinho, but if he doesn’t come then we will stay as we are.”
“But if he doesn’t come, there won’t be anyone else,” Guardiola continued.
Manchester City are spending less compared to last season. In this summer transfer market, it was only Riyad Mahrez, the big name who came to Etihad Stadium.
