Man City Want Navas to Replace the Injured Bravo
By news-admin
DBasia.news – The unexpected situation happened in Manchester City. When the summer transfer market is over in England and they couldn’t buy or loan any more player, The Citizens have the goalkeeper crisis after the Chilean goalkeeper Claudio Bravo got injured.
The 35-year-old goalkeeper got a severe injury in the achilles during the training session. City only have Ederson Moraes and young goalkeeper from the club academy, Daniel Grimshaw to play in the 2018/2019 season.
Man City start to look for the goalkeeper in the transfer market, though they can only recruit it in the winter transfer market on January. One target name, according to AS (22/8) is the 31-year-old goalkeeper in Real Madrid, Keylor Navas.
Thibaut Courtois’ Effect
Four years supporting Madrid, Navas achieved three Champions League titles, one LaLiga, Spain Super Cup, two UEFA, and three Interclub World Cup. He was the number one goalkeeper of Madrid when the supporters wanted to have David De Gea, the main goalkeeper of Spain national team. Navas showed his endurance in guarding Madrid as the fans started to forget De Gea.
However, Thibaut Courtois’ arrival predicted to replace Navas position as Madrid’s prominent goalkeeper.
Courtois might be younger than Navas. No wonder, though Navas wanted to stay in Madrid, Madrid could be sold at the right price if Man City give an offer.
Navas’ exit won’t be too heavy for Madrid because they still have four remaining goalkeepers: Courtois, Kiko Casilla, Andriy Lunin, and Zinedine Zidane’s son, Luca Zidane. The problem is, will Navas ready to be the option of Ederson in Man City.
The number one goalkeeper of Costa Rica national time with the quality like Navas will be wasted for sitting on the bench of Man City. Another realistic option for Man City, besides aiming Navas, is to recruit Jasper Cillessen from Barcelona.
