Manchester City’s Goal Party, Riyad Mahrez Breaks the Record

By db-admin

DBasia.news – Riyad Mahrez’s hat-trick (6, 22 and 69) colored Manchester City’s 5-0 victory over Burnley in the continued Premier League at the Etihad Stadium, Saturday (28/11) pm. Benjamin Mendy (41) and Ferran Torres (66) contributed three other goals for city.

With three goals in this match, Mahrez became the second African player to record a hat-trick with Manchester City. He matched Yaya Toure’s achievement in March 2014.

Since the beginning of the match Manchester City appeared to be pressing. When the game was six minutes in, The Citizens opened their doors.

The mistakes made by Burnley players were taken advantage of by City. De Bruyne was free to send the ball to Riyad Mahrez which was converted into a goal. This is the 70th assist throughout De Bruyne’s career in the Premier League.

Even though he had given resistance, Burnley still didn’t give him any significant difficulties on the City front lines. In fact, Guardiola’s team managed to double their advantage in the 22nd minute.

Mahrez appeared neatly in contributing a goal through his hard kick which broke into Burnley’s goal after receiving a pass from Kyle Walker.

Increasingly mastering the game, City managed to score the third goal. This time the goal was scored by Benjamin Mendy in the 41st minute to maximize De Bruyne’s cross. The 3-0 score lasted until the break.

Manchester City immediately kicked off at the start of the second half. Mahrez almost scored a hat-trick, but his hard-kick still flew over Burnley’s crossbar.

After being pressed for a while by Burnley, City were again able to take control of the game. In 52 minutes, City almost added to their collection of goals. However, De Bruyne’s kick went narrowly sideways.

When the game was an hour in, the hosts created two consecutive chances. The first opportunity came through Jay Rodriguez, whose shot was contained by Ederson. The second chance through Josh Benson’s free kick which soared.

Manchester City moved away from pursuit after Ferran Torres scored a goal in the 66th minute. Torres easily fired a shot after receiving a pass from Gabriel Jesus.

Three minutes later, City scored their fifth goal. Receiving Phil Foden’s pass, Riyad Mahrez perfected his neat performance by scoring a hat-trick. This is Mahrez’s first hat-trick with City or second in the Premier League.

In the 75th minute, the ball entered Burnley’s goal for the sixth time. But this time the referee canceled the goal as Jesus was in an offside position.

With ten minutes remaining, City seemed to let go of the pedal. This was tried by Burnley, who began to suppress the opponent’s defense. But until the game was over, the score 5-0 for City did not change.

With this victory, City improved their position in the standings, climbing to eighth place with 15 points. While Burnley still sits in 17th place by packing five points.
