DBasia.news –  Manchester United failed to conquer 10 Southampton players in Week four of the Premier League which took place Saturday (8/31) night Western Indonesian Time, at St Mary’s Stadium. Both teams drew 1-1.

That result ensured Man United were without a win in three Premier League games in a row. Previously, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team drew 1-1 against Wolverhampton Wanderers and lost 1-2 at Old Trafford against Crystal Palace.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer made three substitutions from the last squad against Palace. Ashley Young, Juan Mata, and Andreas Pereira got off as starters. Luke Shaw and Anthony Martial were injured, while Jesse Lingard entered the bench.

The game has been running open since the early minutes of the match. Man United surprised the host public through a goal scored by Daniel James in the 10th minute. Scott McTominay provided assists that were converted into goals by James.

The Welshman turned the ball to the left of the Southampton goal and could not be pushed over by Angus Gunn. This is James’ third goal in the Premier League. Man United won 1-0.

Southampton looked difficult to develop the game and often make mistakes in the backline. As a result, the home team could not score equalizing the position until the first half ended.

The Saints increased the intensity of their attacks in the second half. The result, at minute 58 Jannik Vestergaard equalized through a header from close range. Vestergaard welcomed Kevin Danso’s cross and won an aerial duel against Victor Lindelof. The score becomes 1-1.

The match was tight until 71 minutes. Hasenhuttl replaced Sofiane Boufal with Stuart Armstrong, while Solskjaer included two players: Nemanja Matic and Jesse Lingard, replacing Mata and Pereira.

Two minutes later, Danso received a second yellow card and got a red card. Southampton played with 10 players in the last 15 minutes of the match and tried to maintain a 1-1 advantage – to win a point.

Manchester United have tried their best to take advantage of the players. But in the remaining time, Southampton’s defense is difficult to penetrate, Gunn plays well, and Man United has no attacking creativity.

Four minutes of added time ended in the second half. Southampton’s score against Man United ended in a 1-1 draw at St Mary’s Stadium.
